How to Win as a Civilian in Halloween: The Game (Civilian Tips)

Playing as the Civilians in Halloween: The Game is definitely a challenge, as you will be facing off against the infamous Michael Myers in your quest to get as many Residents to safety as possible. Here is a rundown of some of the best tips and tricks for getting a victory as a Civilian in Halloween: The Game.

Right from the get-go, the first thing you are going to want to do as a Civilian is focus on your Special Targets. These Residents offer the most points for Michael, and so preventing them from being killed and getting them to Escape is your best chance at winning. The best strategy for keeping your Special Targets alive is making them hide, which you can do after the very first conversational mini-game.

However, though hiding your Special Targets early is a good approach, try to be smart with where you hide them. Be sure to avoid having them hide in houses, since they are fairly easy to find. Instead, have them follow you for a bit and then get them to hide outdoors in obscure places when Michael is not around. From here, you can then set up Escapes and also find other lower-priority Residents, which are more expendable and thus can be used to call the Police and more.

Civilians and Residents are defenseless unless they get their hands on key items. Weapons are going to be the standout here, since they are the only way to actually deal damage and down Michael. Focus on getting yourself a weapon right from the get-go, but also give your Residents weapons so that they can help out too.

This does not only apply to weapons, though, as key items are also a must for combating Michael. While Escape items are a must-grab, you should also focus on other items that provide unique benefits. Here's a rundown of the best weapons and items to kit your loadout with:

Starting Items are by far the biggest way to get an advantage against Michael. You unlock Starting Items by leveling up different Civilians, and by doing so, you can get hold of items that can free you from Michael's grasp, alert the Police, and more. Here are the best Starting Items:

Next up are two tips rolled into one. Michael's biggest crutch is his Shape Jump ability, but since he can only enter it by default when in the dark and unobserved, it's generally best to keep your eyes on him and make use of lights when possible. If Michael is pursuing you, or you see him out in the distance, keep eye contact with him. This way, he cannot shift into Shape Jump unless he uses his Reality Tear ability.

Likewise, Michael's biggest weakness is his base movement speed, but should he close the distance, it's often the end for any Resident or Civilian in his path. With this being the case, it is imperative not to get too close. Flee if you see him, keep your Residents away from him, and if you see Michael approaching while you are indoors, lock doors behind you to either keep him in or out. This also applies to when you knock Michael down, as getting too close can allow him to execute you if you are not able to arrest him.
