October 2026 is shaping up to be a big month for Street Fighter, with the upcoming movie already generating plenty of attention (especially for Cody Rhodes' performance, as seen so far). Fans won't have to wait until then for another reason to dive into the franchise, however, as Capcom and EA have announced a brand-new event bringing Street Fighter into Apex Legends this September.
Gaming collaborations are nothing new, but Capcom and EA make for an especially unexpected pairing. The best crossovers go beyond simply dropping recognizable characters into another game, instead feeling like genuine celebrations of both franchises. Fortunately, this collaboration appears to fall into that camp, giving Street Fighter and Apex Legends a chance to put their own spin on each other in the latter's world (in fun, simple, and playful ways).
Apex Legends is no stranger to high-profile collaborations, with Cyberpunk 2077 serving as its most recent crossover and Street Fighter taking the spotlight on September 22. The brand-new Apex Legends event will bring new Street Fighter-inspired cosmetics, a Hadoken Mythic Universal Melee, and a unique Wildcard Takeover designed to capture the spirit of the fighting game. The biggest question for many fans, however, is which Street Fighter characters will be matched with Apex Legends' characters:
دە سەرەوەی تەواوت دروست بکە یەک ئاشکراکردن لە یەک کاتدا.
دوو خاڵ هەڵبژێرە بۆ گۆڕینەوە پێش ئەوەی لە ڕیزبەندی کۆتایی خۆتدا قفڵ بکەیت.
There are also new Street Fighter-themed weapon skins for the R-99, EVA-8, Flatline, Volt, G7 Scout, Mozambique, Sentinel, and Peacekeeper.
As expected, Apex Legends' dev team has given Olympus a fighting game-inspired makeover for Wildcard. The map is packed with Street Fighter references, from classic arcade cabinets to towering statues of Capcom's iconic fighters as Legends. As World Director Eduardo Agostini put it, "We wanted Olympus to feel like a living Street Fighter stage." That philosophy extends beyond the cosmetics, too, as the Wildcard Takeover is built around the spirit of Street Fighter.
Apex Legends' Cyberpunk 2077 collaboration introduced abilities inspired by that universe's cybernetics, and the Street Fighter crossover takes a similar approach. Players can fill a new Fight Gauge by collecting Tokens, then activate a Fighter Form during a match. Each player chooses their Street Fighter form before the game begins (though an in-game Token can change it), with each form granting new Tacticals and Ultimates in Apex Legends inspired by moves such as Hadokens, Shoryukens, Yoga Sunbursts, and Kikosho blasts. Activating a Fighter Form also shifts Apex Legends into third-person, with Respawn adding full melee combos to the game, not the same repetitive hits.
