For Nintendo fans, this week is turning out to be a big one. Not only do we have a full-blown Nintendo Direct taking place tomorrow, Nintendo decided to put on a pretty massive pre-show consisting of nothing but The Legend of Zelda, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the series in pretty spectacular style.
Now that the show has arrived, here's everything that was shown off during the event, updated live for your convenience.
While you thought that this would be a pretty good reason to show off a fancy trailer for The Legend of Zelda's big live action movie, Nintendo thought otherwise. The company did recognize that it's a thing that exists, telling us that The Legend of Zelda movie will be titled... The Legend of Zelda, but that's about it.
After the movie nonsense, it was announced that a series of concerts will be held for The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary, starting in Japan before moving on to North America, Europe, and Australia.
Of course, it would have been even weirder if we hadn't got any Ocarina of Time remake news, and thankfully, Nintendo delivered on that front. To start with, we got a pretty massive gameplay trailer, giving us a look at the game properly for the first time and how it actually looks like running. We got to see new mechanics to OoT, such as jumping and full camera movement, as well as the return of that classic Zelda combat and a dungeon within the Great Deku Tree.
On top of all that, we also got the reveal that the game's Ocarina will have a goofy voice input system thanks to the Switch 2's built-in mic, as well as the reveal that Ocarina of Time Remake will release on November 5 later this year.
Nintendo was then quick to move onto all the tat that it's going to be selling alongside the game, which includes two new Amiibo of Young Link and Young Zelda. These two Amiibo will unlock special masks in the game, letting you sport the head of Zelda and Link from the N64 version.
And of course, Nintendo is capitalizing on the game's release by announcing a new Switch 2 model celebrating the Legend of Zelda. It has a neat pattern on the back sporting the Triforce, as well as a similar carrying case. That Switch 2 will release ahead of the game, on October 29.
