No crafting survival experience would be complete without a cozy fishing minigame, and that is no different in Graveyard Keeper 2. Players can fish at multiple locations, including a spot just to the west of their house. You'll of course need a rod, and for more advanced fish, bait is required too. The difficult part is knowing when to pull or not. Essentially, when the yellow exclamation mark appears, you should hold and pull. When it disappears, or the line turns red, let go.
Players are told to avoid pulling when the fish is fighting back when fishing in Graveyard Keeper 2. However, the exclamation mark confuses things, as usually this would mean stop.
How it actually works is that you should hold and pull when the yellow exclamation mark appears, and let go when it disappears, especially if the line goes red. If you press or hold while the line is red, it will break.
Increase your Farming Mastery stat to help with fishing. You can also eat Muffins for a buff to this stat.
Often, this will mean alternating quickly between holding and letting go, but when the fish has nearly been reeled in, you can hold down for the last haul, even if the exclamation mark has gone.
Thankfully, fishing uses no Stamina in Graveyard Keeper 2, unlike most other actions.
The most basic fish don't require any bait, but each tier above that requires more advanced bait. For these, one bait will be consumed with every attempt, whether successful or not.
Once multiple fish of the same type have been caught in one spot, they will be unavailable in that spot for a while, so you can't sit there for hours filling your pantry with fish. You can, however, head to another fishing spot on the map.
