Despite Ubisoft moving away from its mandatory use with Steam, the first-party gaming platform still isn't going down without a fight, and instead is offering some pretty fantastic incentives to get players on the platform. Taking a note from the Epic Games launcher, simply downloading and logging into Ubisoft Connect will let you get access to a limited-time offer for one of their classic Triple-A games.
While it does come with the downside of needing another launcher to play, it's still worth checking out, especially since you'll only have until September 28th at 1:00 PM UTC to claim and keep this medieval action game forever.
Originally released back in 2017, Ubisoft's free offering for the month comes in the form of the regularly discounted For Honor, which offers a perfect excuse to give the game a try if you've ever been curious about the gritty PVP-focused action experience.
As mentioned previously, you don't even have to do much to claim For Honor for free either, as simply adding it to your library will be enough to permanently grant you access to both the single-player and PvP experiences of the excellent medieval-themed game with no limitations.
Even though it's not the first time For Honor has been offered for free, the opportunity is still one you don't want to miss out on, even if you don't have time or feel like fully diving into it just yet with how many stacked releases have been dropping this month.
Although For Honor has gained a pretty undesirable reputation over the years due to the numerous technical issues and playerbase concerns, the short 7-hour story alone is worth playing through at least once using the free deal.
Even the multiplayer side of things has received several facelifts over the years that have put it into a relatively good spot for new players to dive into, albeit with a few issues that haven't been fully worked out yet.
While it will have quite a bit of a learning curve if you end up facing off against some of the more dedicated players that have been around since release, there are still thousands of active users that you can throw yourself against while playing as numerous Vikings, Knights, or Samurai using its dedicated public servers.
