Today's Xbox Tokyo Game Show Showcase was finished off by none other than Hideo Kojima himself, who provided more details on his two upcoming Xbox projects in the form of OD-KNOCK and PHYSINT.
It was PHYSINT that took centre stage here, with Kojima revealing that Bill Skarsgård (It, Nosferatu) will portray the lead role in the action-espionage game, alongside the already-announced Charlee Fraser, Don Lee and Minami Hanabe.
Kojima also called the game the "culmination of more than 40 years of my career", and one that will "redefine action-espionage, unbound by any existing genres in digital entertainment".

Hideo Kojima: “I’m delighted to confirm the lead role for PHYSINT will be Bill Skarsgård. We are both long-time fans of each other’s work, and we’ve decided to embark on this new adventure together. The costume fittings, scans, and camera tests we conducted with Bill and Charlee earlier this year gave me tremendous confidence in the direction of the project.”
As for OD, Kojima advised that development is "progressing smoothly" on the horror title, and he also showed off various behind-the-scenes clips of performance capture (as seen in the video above). He says OD will "test the thresholds of fear" when it releases in the future, but there's nothing more to share on a release date right now.
While it doesn't seem like we'll be playing either of these games anytime soon, this was a really cool surprise to end the Xbox Tokyo event earlier today, and we're certainly excited to see each title come to fruition in the future.
An even cooler surprise for people in Tokyo was that Kojima showed up at the Xbox FanFest event there today! He hadn't been announced ahead of time, so his appearance was entirely unexpected. We'll leave you with some photos:
