The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake had a fantastic showing at the Zelda Anniversary Direct this year, unveiling some exciting new releases like a Zelda-themed Switch 2alongside the remake footage. Unsurprisingly, the Ocarina of Time Remake and its various special editions have been the biggest takeaway from the Zelda direct, with one of the most notable gameplay changes being the real-world Ocarina compatibility.
Nintendo even included a gameplay demo showing that you can play notes on Link's Ocarina either using a real-life instrument or simply humming the tune of each song for yourself. While any old instrument will do, Nintendo is capitalizing on the new gameplay feature by releasing a limited-edition electric Ocarina of Time controller which you can buy right now.
Being made available on the Nintendo store for a whopping $49.99, the Electric Ocarina of Time controller will be releasing at the same time as the remake itself on November 5th of this year. Unfortunately, you won't be able to play the Ocarina of Time Remake with the shiny new controller right away, as the hardware ships six days later on the 12th.
This window doesn't include how long it takes to actually ship from Nintendo to your house.
The Electric Ocarina also has an autoplay mode that will recreate 12 songs from Ocarina of Time with the push of a single button, making it even easier to play in-game or to simply listen to on your own.
Built with accessibility in mind, rather than blowing in into the top of the controller to make a sound, all you have to do is simply press the mouthpiece button at the top and the corresponding button you want to play while in free mode.
The Electric Ocarina also has built-in speakers that will let you enjoy or input the sounds from the device into your Switch 2, alongside a slider to adjust volume, and a headphone jack to listen to or connect in private.
Although the Electric Ocarina of Time isn't a must-have Nintendo accessory by any means, its only one of the many unique ways to experience the game when it releases later this year, alongside numerous limited-time special editions ranging from exclusive box art of other collector's items to incentivize players.
