It has been a surprisingly long time since Bayonetta last had a new adventure. Bayonetta 3 arrived in 2022 as the latest mainline entry in PlatinumGames' best action game series, bringing the witch's latest battle to Nintendo Switch after years of anticipation, and that was 8 years after the release of Bayonetta 2. The witch remains a recognizable character in the world of gaming, but no new mainline game has followed up on Bayonetta 3 so far.
The arrival of Nintendo Switch 2 has given some older games another chance to return to the spotlight, though, and Bayonetta is once again getting some attention without a new game being announced. The character's distinctive look and action-heavy legacy have made Bayonetta a natural fit for collaborations, and one upcoming release is putting that connection to use in a fairly substantial way.
Bayonetta is officially crossing over with Stellar Blade Complete Edition, which is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5. As part of the collaboration, Eve will receive four new Bayonetta outfits, letting players bring the iconic witch's style into Stellar Blade. All four outfits will be available for free on Nintendo Switch 2, with the PC and PS5 versions also receiving the outfits, on November 5 at 7 am PT/10 am ET.

The collaboration gives Stellar Blade Complete Edition an especially recognizable addition, with three of the four outfits already shown in the game's new trailer. The fourth Bayonetta outfit is being kept secret for now, with the developers planning to reveal the final look at a later date. For fans who have been waiting years for more Bayonetta, it is at least another opportunity to see the character's influence show up in a major action game.
Stellar Blade Complete Edition is also bringing the full game and its previously released content to Nintendo Switch 2. The package includes the NieR and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE collaborations, along with additional Complete Edition bonuses such as new outfits for Eve, Adam, and Lily, accessories, Drone customization, 2,000 SP EXP, and 5,000 Gold. The game will be available physically and digitally for $59.99, with the physical version coming entirely on cartridge.
For Bayonetta fans, the collaboration is an unusual way for the character to make an appearance during the Nintendo Switch 2 era. There is still no new mainline Bayonetta game to follow Bayonetta 3, but the new Stellar Blade Complete Edition outfits give the series' signature witch another chance to make an impact. With one outfit still being kept secret, there is also at least one more Bayonetta-related reveal waiting in the wings.
