In The Witcher 3, Devil by the Well is an early-game Contract Geralt can pick up in White Orchard. In it, you have to investigate an abandoned well south of the village and find a way to get rid of the Noonwraith that’s haunting it.
After picking up the Devil by the Well Contract from the Notice Board in White Orchard, track the quest in the journal and head to the marked location on the map. Talk to Odalon to learn why he is issuing the contract and decide on the price by haggling (23 is the sweet spot).
The new quest marker will lead you to the ruined village south of White Orchard. You’ll arrive to find that the “village” is essentially just a large courtyard with a Well in the center and three houses surrounding it. There are two clues you need to investigate using your Witcher senses
Open your Bestiary (B) and go to the entry for Noonwraiths and read the blurb on the right to learn about the monster. The weaknesses of Noonwraiths are:
