Anime-inspired side-scrolling roguelike action platformer SlashZero will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in spring 2027, publisher Skystone Games and developer Streetlamp Studio announced. A limited-time demo is available now for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam until September 23 at 3:00 p.m. PT / 6:00 p.m. ET.
SlashZero is a 3D anime side-scrolling roguelike that puts players in the role of a Timehacker traveling across multiple timelines. Its fast-paced combat moves seamlessly between ground and air, allowing players to take down enemies with stylish attacks and fluid combos. Players can experiment with different combat builds, grow stronger as they face more enemies, and uncover the truth of the world.
This demo offers the most complete look yet at SlashZero‘s core gameplay loop, with up to 10 hours of gameplay. Players start by choosing a Timehacker, then experiment with different combat options and builds, unlock additional Timehackers, progress through various out-of-round systems, and take on new rounds that may reveal hidden bosses. Compared with previous closed and in-person tests, this version includes substantially more playable content. It includes:
A stage robot who awakened under mysterious circumstances, Hamlet now carries the responsibility of saving the world—not only on stage, but across every timeline. He fights with a longsword and shield, can reconfigure his weapons in combat, and excels at overwhelming groups of enemies with sweeping close-range attacks.
Hamlet was teased as a mysterious character in the global trailer released this June and will be playable for the first time in this demo. After completing the first loop as Nyx or Fina and interacting with a character at the camp, players can trigger Hamlet’s story in later loops by meeting the required timeline and mission conditions, unlocking him as a playable Timehacker and beginning a new journey.
Challenge Two New Secret Bosses: Erik and Ye
Although Erik and Ye have appeared in previous demos and trailers, this will be the first time players can challenge them as secret bosses. As one of the first enemies encountered in the tutorial, Erik uses his overwhelming power to sever the Timehacker’s connection to “Silver” before defeating the player with a relentless assault. This time, players can return with more skills and stronger upgrades at their disposal—and finally face him in a full rematch.
Ye previously appeared as an NPC across several maps, but now steps forward as an adversary. Who is he, and what secrets is he hiding? Players will have to uncover the answers for themselves.
