Control Resonant has been released, so it's time to get weird. This mind-bending action game places you in the shoes of Jesse's brother, Dylan, as he attempts to stop the Hiss from destroying New York City. Throughout your journey, you'll come across all manner of foul, twisted abominations that want to make you past tense.
One of the earliest roadblocks will be the game's first boss, The Artist. This massive floating face is more of a challenge than you might expect — especially since the series switched from a third-person shooter to a hack-and-slash. If you're struggling to beat this boss, here is everything you need to know to beat The Artist.
The Artist can be a bit of an annoying boss, as she relies heavily on trying to keep her distance from you. Despite her size, she is surprisingly fast, as The Artist will quickly speed away whenever you get close. Her main ranged attack is hurling vehicles at you that will explode on impact.
Because of this, you will want to watch for floating cars around her head, as this indicates she's about to hurl them. Additionally, the explosions deal quite a lot of damage, so avoiding them should be your top priority. Make sure to dodge either right or left before they hit, since you cannot simply outrun them with your dash.
Sprint towards The Artist and start hammering away at her with your Aberrant. She will then switch to using her close-range attacks, which involve her slamming large metal beams down straight in front of her. When you see this, dodge to the side since you do not have enough space to dodge backwards to fully avoid being hit.
She will then switch to sweeping the beams both above her head and along the ground. Perform a single jump and attack while in the air. Keep striking her during this attack to keep Dylan floating so he can avoid the beams while still pouring on damage. Eventually, The Artist will quickly speed away and start hurling cars at you again.
Alternatively, she may lift some boulders up from the ground and launch them horizontally like a machine gun. Just like the beam attack, being above this move is the best way to avoid it, so jump and float over her attack. If you're fast enough, you can close the distance before she finishes launching the boulders and get in some free attacks while she's locked in the animation.
Keep this up until The Artist loses about a third of her health. She will then teleport to the middle of the arena and fly high into the sky. Chunks of the ground will rise around you, forming makeshift platforms that lead up to where The Artist is. Climb up to the highest platform and wait until she starts to turn them vertically. Use this extra elevation to jump to the boss so you can attack her while in the air.
