Following the announcement of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s release date during today’s State of Play, a stunning collector’s edition and various other versions have gone up for pre-order.
Before today’s State of Play showcase, the only game that we knew for certain was going to be there was Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. We were promised an “extended look” at the game, which certainly came to pass with the long-awaited confirmation of its April 8 release date and a bunch of gameplay footage.
With a release date finally confirmed, Square Enix also opened up pre-orders for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, confirming once and for all that it’s getting the collector’s edition that we all hoped for, as well as various other editions. Let’s get into what each version of the game includes, their prices, and more.
Pre-orders for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation are currently live on the Square Enix store, which seems to be the only place as of the time of writing. The most basic version of the game is the Day One Edition for $69.99, which includes the base game (duh) and a Magic: The Gathering: Final Fantasy Final Showdown promo card based on Advent Children.
The Deluxe Edition of Revelation will run you back $99.99 and includes the base game, the same Magic: The Gathering card, a mini-soundtrack CD, a hardback artbook, and a stunning steelbook case. If that sounds familiar to you, that’s because it’s pretty much the same thing that both Remake and Rebirth got.
All pre-orders for the game include the Mecha-Chocobo and Moogle Summon Materia as a bonus.
Of course, the main event here is the Collector’s Edition, which costs a whopping $350. For that price, you get a very cool statue of Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth, the Polydroid Alexander Summon Materia, Nymphwing Bracelet armour, Risk Taker's Choker accessory, and the story expansion pass with two DLC episodes.
That story expansion pass confirms once and for all that Revelation will get post-launch DLC, with one episode focusing on Sephiroth and the other focusing on Vincent and the Turks. We don’t know exactly what to expect from those titles, but it does finally put the speculation to rest about DLC support.
