Cyberleek, the person or group behind the recent GTA 6 leaks, has reportedly started cashing out after generating around $270,000 through cryptocurrency promoted alongside the leaked footage. The still-unknown figure has spent more than a week releasing unauthorized Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay while Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive work to remove the material and identify whoever is responsible.
Cyberleek initially began releasing alleged GTA 6 footage on August 18, with the material showing everything from driving and combat to previously unseen areas and activities. The videos have also repeatedly promoted the $CYBERLEEK cryptocurrency through watermarks, links, and QR codes. However, rather than simply selling a large reserve of the token, much of the operation's reported revenue appears to have come from transaction fees generated as other people traded it. Over the past week, users on the GTA Forums have tracked the cryptocurrency's activity and estimated that those fees climbed into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
According to an August 27 analysis from Vice Cit on GTA Forums, approximately $270,000 was withdrawn from transaction fees generated by the $CYBERLEEK token. Vice Cit estimates that roughly $29,000 was initially spent setting up the operation, potentially leaving the person or group behind Cyberleek with around $241,000 in profit if the campaign ends here. The money was reportedly split across four transactions before being sent to several destinations, including cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin and swapping service CCE.Cash. At the time the analysis was published, some of the funds were still sitting in separate wallets. The activity suggests that whoever operates Cyberleek has started withdrawing proceeds from the GTA 6 leaks campaign, although moving cryptocurrency between wallets doesn't necessarily mean the entire amount has been converted to fiat currency.

The way those funds were divided has also raised questions about how many people might actually be involved. Vice Cit believes the different withdrawal methods could point toward at least two individuals operating Cyberleek, potentially with one person supplying the leaked material and another handling the wider operation. For now, that remains speculation based on blockchain activity rather than proof of multiple participants. However, the transactions could still provide useful identifying leads, particularly because some reportedly connect to centralized cryptocurrency services that may retain account or transaction information.

This apparent cash-out comes as Take-Two is already attempting to uncover Cyberleek's identity. The publisher recently sought information from Microsoft and Discord related to the distribution of GTA 6 material, while Xbox CTO Scott Van Vliet publicly said Microsoft is working closely with Take-Two and Rockstar to protect their creative work and intellectual property.
