It sounds Xbox is very, very interested in getting back into the world of TV and movies in a big way, as a new report suggest they're pitching game adapations to various studios in what's being called a "bulk studio deal".
This report is coming from the folks at Puck, and it says that game franchises like Halo, World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls and Diablo are all involved in these pitches, and there are actually more than "a dozen" games included in total.
"Microsoft’s troubled Xbox division wants to lean way into movies and TV adaptations, so it’s begun quietly pitching Hollywood on a pricey package of more than a dozen games."
Apparently, Netflix, Paramount and Universal have been taking a look a this "pricey package", but it remains to be seen whether they're actually interested or not (and for what it's worth, Puck says they couldn't get comment from them).
We've already heard Xbox leadership talking about how they want to lean into their major franchises even more in the future, and this is certainly one way to do it. How it'll look and whether it proves successful remains to be seen.
It's also been reported that both Gears of War and Sea of Thieves are getting the movie treatment at some point in the future, so in a few years' time, Xbox could be dominating the big (and small) screen with all sorts of projects!
