Over the past couple of years, PS5 emulation has improved dramatically, spurred on by PlayStation and Sony's decision to pull away from the PC market and keep all of their single player offerings on their own platforms. That's only emboldened the emulators and pirates out there even more, and now we have PlayStation made games fully playable on PC.
For example, PS5 emulation has grown to such a degree that we have recently released games like Marvel's Wolverine booting up on PC, whether PlayStation likes it or not. Sure, it's not in a totally playable state, but the way things are improving at speed means it could be possible sooner rather than later. In fact, we already have half a dozen PS5 games fully playable at 60fps on PC right now.
In the latest update to a PS5 emulator known as SharpEmu (thanks GamesRadar), 12 games have now reached the stage where they're bootable and can reach an in-game screen, while 6 are fully playable at 60fps, though not from start to end right now. Those games are a handful of classic retro collections, such as the older, remastered Tomb Raider games, and a selection of indie games.
If you're looking for something more triple-A to really stick it to PlayStation, you'll want to keep an eye on the KyTyPS5 emulator, which recently just had Demon's Souls running at around 30fps, while it's also possible to get Astro Bot running as well.
Nothing is in a completely 100 percent playable state at the moment, but with how fast modern emulation is improving these days, it feels like only a matter of time until we get a ShadPS4 situation where we have PlaySation games running on PC way better than on the console themselves. Spite is one hell of a motivator.
