Publisher Wizards of the Coast and developer Invoke Studios have debuted about eight minutes of gameplay from Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons, the upcoming action RPG set within the ever-popular fantasy world.
As the name suggests, you play as a warlock named Kaatri, who's on a quest to find someone with the aid of powerful witch Tasha.
The game is a single player action adventure, and as you can see from the gameplay, it looks like a fairly typical action-focused RPG.
The big difference here is the way you can combine magical abilities with melee; it looks like the combat gives you a lot of tools and leaves you to wield them how you see fit.
At one point, Kaatri holds one enemy in mid air, finishes off another, then magically picks up a spare sword and hurls it at the floating foe. A big brute baddie is defeated by summoning tendrils from the ground to hold it down while you hack away at it.
It looks like it could be a lot of fun — I'm sure we'll see plenty more of it, as it's slated for release sometime in 2027.
