Grand Theft Auto 6’s sold-out limited vinyl release is unsurprisingly being scalped for some wild prices, with some listings asking for nearly $400.
Yesterday, Rockstar Games surprised us all by following up the recent artist teases and announcing Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album, a soundtrack with 34 original songs that’s, somewhat ironically, getting a big physical release. That release came in the form of three editions, the most snazzy of which being the $125 limited edition.
To the shock of literally no one (unless you let your guard down after the recent DualSense pre-orders), the limited-edition vinyl ended up selling out in a matter of minutes after pre-orders went live. As you can probably guess, that means they’re being resold for some wild prices and have basically become the closest thing GTA 6 has to a collector’s edition.
When pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album went live yesterday and the limited-edition vinyl quickly became a rarity, it was clear that they’d end up getting scalped with some hefty price tags. That’s exactly the case, as a scan of eBay shows just how much some are expecting to get for the rarest release.
One of the first results for the vinyl sets the pace with a $345 asking price, which isn’t even counting the delivery fee. That’s not a rarity either, as plenty of other listings on the site are asking for anywhere between $300 and $350. There are even some “bundles” with the limited-edition controller for $550, if you needed another reason to hate resellers.
To be fair, there’s a precedent for the high prices, as the GTA 5 vinyl has some listings for nearly $1,000.
It’s not just the limited-edition vinyl that’s up on eBay, either, as some of the store-exclusive variants, such as Walmart and Amazon, are also making appearances. Thankfully, they’re nowhere near as pricey, with most listings being around $100 and $130. Still, considering the more basic vinyl is still on Rockstar’s official store, you’re probably better off just going for that.
