Grand Theft Auto 6 will make a huge change to the control layout typically found in Rockstar Games’ releases, and it might save you from needing a new controller.
When it comes to GTA 6, August 27 marked the biggest point on the calendar yet. After Rockstar had rolled out the pre-order period, all eyes were on Netflix for the first extended look at gameplay from the new Grand Theft Auto.
The almost 30-minute-long look at things showed off some brand-new features, a better look at the map, and what players can expect to see when it comes to Jason and Lucia’s relationship.
Off the back of that, a number of creators were able to share some details about their recent visits to Rockstar North in Edinburgh, as they got to interview some of the developers behind GTA 6 – bringing some additional interesting details.
That includes the fact that, for the first time in a long-time, Rockstar is switching up the control scheme for GTA 6, according to Mikeshowsha – who was one of those who go to visit the devs.
You will no longer have to spam the A/X button to sprint. Instead, you will click the left thumbstick in, just like with Call of Duty and other popular titles.
On top of that, the emergency brake in cars will take over the A/X button, instead of being bound to RB/R1. This is because players will be able to freefire while driving – just like shooting guns from horses in Red Dead Redemption 2.
GTA 6 will force you to be a tougher criminal than you’ve ever been in other games
