Most people agree that the Dragon Ball franchise wouldn't be nearly as iconic as it is without the incredible gallery of villains at its disposal. Throughout the various arcs of the story, this franchise has unveiled some of the most iconic and legendary antagonists that anime has ever seen, and they are cemented as some of the greatest in all of fiction.
While some were worried, thankfully, this trend hasn't changed in Dragon Ball Super season 2, as the manga introduced some incredible fighters who also ended up being engaging antagonists, for the most part. So, in this article, let's go over which villain is the greatest threat for each of the main Saiyans of the story.
Of course, Super Buu wasn't a villain in Super. However, Goten and Trunks have barely seen any action since this new part of the series started, and although they fused against Cell Max, they didn't even end up fighting him and just played a comedic support role. Because of this, it can be said that the strongest enemy they ever faced was Super Buu.
Naturally, the young Saiyans have always preferred to fight as Gotenks rather than doing so individually, so they underwent this fusion to battle Buu's strongest form at the time. Not only did they put up a great fight, but Gotenks also became the second Saiyan to ever awaken Super Saiyan 3, which ended up performing very well before he got absorbed by the villain.
Future Trunks was one of the most beloved side characters in the franchise's history, which is why he was brought back for the incredible Goku Black arc. Here, he faced off against the villain who took over Goku's body and laid waste to the entire planet, though his greatest enemy would be the villain's monstrous fusion.
Upon fusing with his other self, Zamasu eventually became the strongest villain we had ever seen until that point, referred to as Merged Zamasu. His strength was now at an even higher level than before, which, paired with Goku Black's invincible body, made him one of the series' most terrifying foes. Eventually, Trunks was able to destroy this immortal body with his Sword of Hope.
Known as the ultimate warrior, Vegito represents the peak of what Goku and Vegeta are able to achieve once they work together. As Zamasu's power was threatening to destroy everything that was left in the world, the Saiyans made a last-ditch effort to stop him by fusing with the Potara Earrings, bringing forth Vegito for the first time since the Buu Saga.
Here, Vegito put on an exceptional performance against an immortal and indestructible God. Of course, the fight was much closer than his previous encounter with Ultimate Buu despite unlocking his Super Saiyan Blue state, but he still proved to be the superior warrior by always keeping his foe on the back foot. He only lost due to the time limit of the Potara Earrings.
