Jujutsu Kaisen Officially Unveils A New Genius On Gojo's Level

In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo Satoru stood as one of the biggest geniuses ever. Born into the Gojo Clan, he was blessed with the inherited Cursed Technique of Limitless, and at the same time, he also had access to the Six Eyes. This combination is incredibly rare, as the last person before Gojo to wield it at the same time came 400 years before his birth. But, just having access to the Limitless Cursed Technique and the Six Eyes was clearly not enough. Gojo had to use his immense talent to bring these powers to full potential and become the strongest modern sorcerer, which he did flawlessly.

Now, in the Modulo era of Jujutsu Kaisen, set 68 years after the conclusion of the Shinjuku Showdown arc, the series has a genius who is on the same level as Gojo Satoru and arguably even greater. This person is none other than the leader of the Deskunte tribe from the Simurian race, Dabura Karaba.

Dabura Karaba made his debut in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo chapter 1, which was officially released on September 8, 2025, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 41. In this chapter, Dabura was seen onboard the Naunax spacecraft, which brought the Simurian race to Earth. At the time, he seemed like a villainous character who was intent on taking over Earth or destroying any competition. However, with more time, Dabura's personality was fleshed out a lot more, and it became clear that he did not even enjoy fighting to begin with.

Despite that, Dabura was cursed with immense strength, which presented itself in the form of two unique Cursed Techniques. Despite Dabura disliking combat, his talent for it was absolutely immense. Gege Akutami, the creator of the series, showed just how big a genius he was once his battle against Mahoraga, the Divine General, stemming from the Ten Shadows Technique of Yuka Okkotsu, began. As far as Dabura's Cursed Technique goes, he has access to two. The first is known as "Murderous Intent," which is passed down to the Deskunte tribe and cannot be understood by Earthlings. It is Murderous Intent given a tangible form, which can be manifested to deal damage to others or infused into other abilities to give them deadly properties as well.

Murderous Intent Cursed Technique has still not been seen at its full potential, but Gege Akutami certainly gave a lot of attention to his second Cursed Technique, known as "Light." As the name implies, Light simply allows Dabura to manipulate the light itself and deal deadly damage to his enemies. The first time Dabura utilized Light was in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo chapter 15, which was officially released on December 15, 2025, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #3. At its basic level, this Cursed Technique allows Dabura to create beams of light that can impale the enemy and kill them in the blink of an eye. To make it even more dangerous, Dabura's genius was such that he actually began to apply the properties of light to his own body and move at sublight speeds. Moving at sublight speed itself means that Dabura's own speed gets close to the speed of light, giving him enough power to destroy just about anything in his path. During his battle with Mahoraga, the Divine General, Dabura's growth was absolutely staggering to witness, and it confirmed to us that he was a genius, arguably even bigger than Gojo Satoru himself.

To begin with, Dabura was already incredibly strong, given that he had access to two different Cursed Techniques. With his Murderous Intent and Light combined, he could get rid of just about anyone in his path. When he faced Mahoraga and came up against an enemy that simply continued to return and adapt to his powers, Dabura was given the perfect platform to actually grow as a fighter. Not only did Dabura start moving at sublight speeds in this battle, but at the same time, he also learned the powers of Reverse Cursed Technique. With the power of Reverse Cursed Technique, he could heal any damage dealt to his body while moving at sublight speeds, and this made him a deadly fighter for anyone to take in combat.
