Would it really be a horror game without an iconic shotgun ready to blast through those terrifying monsters? Silent Hill Townfall does have a Shotgun, but you're not going to obtain it immediately, and in fact, it might take you a fair while before you can get your hands on one. Below, we'll share when you can get the Shotgun, how you can get ammo, and when it's best to use it!

The Shotgun will unlock automatically during [SPOILER]Part 5: Richard[/SPOILER], so don't expect to get it any sooner. Don't worry, you can't miss the Shotgun, as you will pick it up automatically as part of the story, and trust me, it's a weapon you're definitely going to need during [SPOILER]Part 5: Richard[/SPOILER], and I'll explain below.
The Shotgun is essential because you're going to encounter [SPOILER]a new enemy type known as the Widows. These enemies have knives and will stalk you from the darkness and from behind corners, so a close-range Shotgun is necessary to put them down in one or two shots, as they're going to close the distance pretty fast[/SPOILER].
Shotgun Ammo is fortunately found all over the CEG Tower during your attempt to reach the 10th floor. You can find Shotgun Ammo on the [SPOILER]dead bodies of Richard[/SPOILER], which are scattered in the many rooms of the CEG Tower.
While playing through this chapter, I managed to get over 60 bullets for the Shotgun, and I only ended up using around 40 to kill every Widow that I saw. You don't need to be as bloodthirsty as I was, as they are pretty scary! Killing 30 Widows will reward the "Missing the Point Entirely" trophy.
You will keep the Shotgun after Part 5: Richard, but you will lose its ammo, which forces you to find more. So don't worry about hoarding it beyond Part 5; just enjoy blasting those Widows!
