Hozuki Pouches are your main healing items in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The very first one you get is as simple as it gets, but if you go out of your way to get materials for Okuni, you'll end up with four other options that each provide very different effects. You can get new Hozuki Pouches in Onimusha once you enter the Eastern Kyoto region after completing the prologue, but before you can reach all of them, you'll have to proceed through the main story first.
Immediately restores a medium amount of health
Slowly restores a large amount of health and stamina over time
Refills your Oni Power and Reflex Gauge by a fixed amount
Restores a medium amount of health and Oni Power over time
Instantly refills your Oni Power and Awakening gauge by a medium amount
At some point early in the game, you'll get a quest from Okuni about getting a proper Hozuki Pouch. After this quest, the locations of all Hozuki Pouches in Onimusha will be revealed on your map. They're found in Genma strongholds throughout Eastern Kyoto, so be ready for a fight.
Some of the areas containing Hozuki Pouches are locked behind areas that are covered by harmful miasma. If you can't access these areas, you'll have to progress through the main story.
