Understanding how elements interact with each other in Aniimo is key to becoming the best Pathfinders in Idyll, and since the game has a few interesting mechanics like Prismana Forms, which alter elemental matchups, there is more reason for players to know which elements are stronger or weaker against each other. This guide explains all element interactions in Aniimo, explaining how this affects combat in the game.
Unlike other Monster Collector games, in Aniimo, element matchups are defined by three major results depending on who attacks or who defends. An Excellent matchup makes the attacker deal 1.6x damage to the defender, while a Bad matchup will have the attacker causing 0.625x damage to the opponent. Then, Normal Matchups cause regular damage without multipliers (1x).
As players might have noticed, elemental interactions in Aniimo are extremely different from other similar games. The most notorious example is Wind that instead of causing 0 damage to Earth, does normal damage. Ice also beats Lightning, which makes sense since Ice is a poor conductor, and Earth causes Normal Damage to Lightning, which is different from what you find in the average Monster Collector or RPG.
So, trying to understand the Elemental interactions in Aniimo as you do in most RPGs or Monster Collectors can be extremely ineffective. Study this type chart well, and learn all about the weaknesses and strengths of the different elemental types of Aniimo you can find in the game.
What about Dual Element Aniimo, then? Well, that's a completely different story. Dual Element Aniimo, especially Prismana Form Aniimo add a lot of coverage in terms of attack, but they also gain the vulnerabilities of their respective second typing.
So, in the case of Glacy, which is normally a Water/Ice Aniimo, in its Prismana Form it turns into a Holy/Water Aniimo. This new configuration will work as follows:
On the other hand, the resistances to other Elemental Types will shift as well. So, in order to calculate Prismana Glacy's resistances, you take into consideration its new sub-type (Holy instead of Ice).
And for its strengths, the same happens. Prismana Glacy will now have extra coverage and will damage the Dark Element, since Holy and Dark cause Excellent damage to each other.
