Atlus has announced that Persona 6 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day that a ton of story spoilers for were accidentally revealed by Steam, overshadowing the reveal that more masked adventures will be happening on a portable system.
This article won't contain any of the leaked spoilers for Persona 6 that are making the rounds online.
For the longest time, the Persona series was strictly kept to PlayStation systems, save for spin-offs, like the Persona Q titles, which appeared on Nintendo handhelds. Over the past few years, Atlus and Sega finally allowed the series to become multi-platform, with the remakes and remasters of Persona 3, 4, and 5 being available on modern systems, allowing them to reach much wider audiences.
Atlus had previously announced that Persona 6 is on the way, and it's now coming to a new platform. It was revealed during the September 9 Nintendo Direct that Persona 6 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the future. As the game still lacks a release window, it's unknown whether it will launch alongside the PC and console versions, or if it'll come later. Sadly, the trailer for Persona 6 during the Nintendo Direct was almost identical to its initial reveal, with no new content for fans to chew on.
The release of Persona 6 on Switch 2 could mark a huge leap for the series, as it might be the first time that a Persona game will launch on a Nintendo system. The sheer length of the Persona games means that the Switch 2 will be the preferred title for many people, who will want to pursue Social Links while in bed or on the toilet.
Sadly, the announcement of Persona 6 for the Nintendo Switch 2 has been upstaged, as it was made on the same day as a huge Steam leak, where achievements for tons of upcoming games were revealed, including Kingdom Hearts 4, spoiling their contents. This was the case for Persona 6, where several story beats and character names were confirmed.
It was revealed during the September 9 Nintendo Direct that Persona 6 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the future.
As the release date of Persona 6 is unknown, it's safe to say it's not coming until late 2027 or 2028, especially as Atlus is still promoting Persona 4 Revival, which launches early next year. This means fans have every reason to avoid spoilers like the plague, at least as best they can for the next year or so.
