A train station in Japan has received a Street Fighter 6 makeover, with Ryu, Chun-Li, and more appearing across everything from staircases to restroom signs.
Whether you’re commuting to work, school, or just taking a much-needed trip, travelling to and from your destination is rarely the best part of your day. However, thanks to a new Street Fighter-themed collab, heading to the station could well be a highlight for fighting game fans.
Visitors to Yamato-Yagi Station in Kashihara, Nara Prefecture, will find Street Fighter 6 characters decorating its central staircases, restroom signs near the ticket gates, and waiting rooms. There are even themed announcements from Chun-Li and Ryu’s Japanese voice actors thrown in for good measure.
The biggest addition is a large mural near Yamato-Yagi Station’s north plaza, which features Street Fighter 6’s character selection screen alongside a “Kashihara × Street Fighter” logo.
Besides the new character artwork, Japanese voice actors Hiroki Takahashi (Ryu) and Fumiko Orikasa (Chun-Li) have recorded original messages to introduce travelers to local sightseeing destinations.
According to the press release, the announcements highlight locations including the Fujiwara Palace Site, Kashihara Jingu shrine, and Ishibutai Kofun, one of Japan’s largest ancient burial mounds. They play every 20 minutes between 9am and 6pm at Yamato-Yagi and Kashiharajingu-mae stations, and will run until July 30, 2027.
There are also two commemorative admission ticket sets, each presented in a different limited-edition Street Fighter 6 holder. Yamato-Yagi Station is selling 1,000 sets for ¥1,080 (around $6.83), while another 1,000 are available from Kashiharajingu-mae Station for ¥720 (around $4.55).
Collectors who manage to pick up both can also place the holders side by side to create one complete image. Fortunately, the two stations are only around five minutes apart by train, so you won’t need to trek across Japan to get both.
