Most concerningly, fan-favorite “itasha” (vehicles adorned with anime, manga, and video game characters) are bearing the brunt of the takedowns.
While Microsoft and Playground Games enforce strict Code of Conduct guidelines regarding user-generated content, prohibiting explicit imagery, hate speech, intellectual property violations, harm against people/animals, and much more, players allege that an organized “mass reporting” campaign is abusing the automated system.
The consequences are allegedly escalating far beyond standard design takedowns. Frustrated players on X (formerly Twitter) report receiving full hardware bans for sharing ordinary, non-explicit anime paint jobs. The situation has spiraled to the point where simply taking an in-game photograph of an itasha vehicle or possessing an unreleased, work-in-progress draft in a private library can trigger a disciplinary flag. And this pervasive fear of sudden account suspensions has forced top livery artists to not share their online portfolios and even step away from the Creative Hub.
