Unsupervised Science is one of the many side quests in Control Resonant, and this one involves shutting down all the experiments located across Manhattan. Even though they are not marked on the map from the start, one of the testing facilities has a note that gives you the coordinates for all the facilities, marking them on your map.
However, since the facilities themselves are marked and they are underground, when you reach the marked location, you will find yourself out in the middle of the street with nothing there. The entrances to these facilities are not marked, and this is where the guide below will help you locate them and complete the shutdown process.
The facility located in Downtown has an entrance inside the Testing Facility Reade building to the east of the zone. The building here is under construction, and as you enter, there will be Hiss enemies that you will need to deal with, after which you can look around to spot an underground entrance.
Inside the facility, you will find a puzzle that you need to solve for the shutdown process. A note on the terminal says that the default state is set to Soda Dispenser. There are multiple items around the room that you can interact with, carry to the center of the room, and place inside the box.
When you are placing the item, you need to make sure the item is a Soda Dispenser. To change the state of the item, simply pass it through the yellow lines, and on the other side, it will be a different item. How the state change works is also drawn on the whiteboard above next to the terminal if you are ever confused.
An easy way I found was to carry an item across one line, then jump over to the side where it turns into a different one, making them not change in the given order. At times, this made the change into the Soda Dispenser much faster.
Thankfully, two other testing facilities have the same puzzle system with the Soda Dispenser, so once you understand how this works, it will be useful again later. Once you complete the testing facility in Downtown, you will get a Power Upgrade and A Note From Dr. Milbeck's Cardiologist (File).
The entrance to the facility in Central is located east of the Patterned Factory, where you fight the Deserter Resonant. When you reach the construction site, look for an underground entrance nearby. Once you reach the underground facility, you will find a different puzzle this time around.
