Limbus Company's 7th season was packed with some seriously powerful IDs across the board. If you're a fresh player looking at the dispenser like a kid in a candy store, it can be hard to decide what's worth grabbing in the limited time we have before Season 8 begins, especially with how many heavy hitters came from the House of Spiders.
I feel like this season has been one of Limbus's best, providing absolute monsters for (almost) every team on offer. With Meursault's Canto on the horizon, there's no time like the present to fill your roster. I'll be walking through the 10 best IDs worth grabbing in ascending order, starting with decent picks and ending with absolute musts.
The Ring Apprentice Faust follows up Faust's opening as the very first ID of the season, coming in a duo banner alongside her Nursefather, Ring Hong Lu. On her own, Ring Faust is a fairly solid Bleed/Charge unit that starts the battle slow and sturdy before casting off her armor once she's reached a Charge threshold.
From then on, she's a breakneck DPS with serious application and a great Skill 3-2 in her 'Liberation of the Repressed Flesh'. Functioning great in a full Bleed team and decently in a Charge lineup means Ring Apprentice Faust is decently flexible, decently effective, and an overall decent ID across the board. You aren't here for decent though, so let's move on!
That's a mouthful of a name for a real heavy hitter, the first half of the Index Duo, the venerable Don Quixote! In her Index Proxy form, Don takes the role of the Index Nursefather's Apprentice, empowered by her own unstable EGO when she's done her homework. By following the Prescripts given to her each turn, Don can enter a much stronger form, dealing tons of damage once her Poise is online.
As a Sinking/Poise unit, Don enables her own crits while forcing the enemy to roll worse. Her lackluster Sinking application makes her a bit difficult to slot into the team without backup, but once the enemy is good and debuffed, she's a great addition to the team, chunking through Sinking Count and enemy HP both. Run her alongside the Index Nursefather for bonus damage.
Taking the form of the recently recruited Kira, Middle Apprentice Ishmael leans all in on the Middle's niche of counterattacks, Envy Resonance, and Blunt damage. Serving as a solid backup to her Nursefather, Middle Ishmael relies on Envy Resonance to get her debuffs going, but is great at pumping out damage once the team is assembled.
Sadly, that's her only real role in the team. Ishmael outpaces her fellow apprentices because, while she's a one-trick pony, she's very good at her trick. Ishmael is a DPS machine in a proper middle lineup, but her over-reliance on the team makes her difficult to run anywhere else. Luckily, the Middle is one of Limbus's most effective lineups, so Ishmael will have a spot in my roster for a good long while.
