While players can argue about the best builds for Point Guards in NBA 2K27, there's no denying that finding the right roster matters just as much in MyCareer or any sports career mode. The best MyCareer teams for Point Guards lack a current star in that position, yet still have talent in other areas of the court. For example, having a big man to pick and roll with is ideal for Point Guards, as is the option of sharpshooters to dish the ball to in the corners. Age is another factor, as an ideal MyCareer team is young enough to grow with MP.
With the Greek Freak joining the Heat, there's no better time to head to Miami as a Point Guard, especially as defensive superstar Bam Adebayo remains on the roster. Their current starting Point Guard, Mitchell, is just 77 rated, giving MP a direct ticket to the starting five. Both of the Heat's stars are perfect recipients for lob passes at the rim, or they can act as defensive anchors while MP runs the offense solo.
If players are looking to win in their first season, but still want a sniff at starting, the Houston Rockets are easily one of the best destinations for PGs. Rotating with Sheppard and the aging VanVleet, MP can complement the rising star Amen Thompson in the backcourt, while linking up with Durant and Sengun. The aim will be to win a ring with Durant before he retires or moves on to another team.
Aside from Michael Porter Jr. and Julius Randle, the Brooklyn Nets don't have much going for them, and haven't for many years. To add to their despair, their New York rivals just won the championship, but with MP joining the league, a rivalry to become the city's best guard could be on. The Nets have three Point Guards, all aged 20, but none are stars and might be better served as solid deputies to MP.
In recent years, Kyrie Irving has often found himself sidelined due to injury, and by joining the Mavericks, MP will be ready to step into his shoes when called on. Even when he does start, there's not too much competition as his backup, with just one other Point Guard at Dallas. The main lure, however, is the opportunity to rise alongside Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg, and contest with the Spurs as the best young team in Texas, and the rest of the States for that matter.
Other than Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine to a lesser extent, the Sacramento Kings are a tad light on star power, but this can prove to be the perfect home for MP to shine as a Point Guard where he can run the floor. There's only fellow rookie Darius Acuff Jr. to compete with at PG, and Sabonis is all that's required to run a pick-and-roll game.
For the first time ever in NBA 2K, players can experience MyCareer in one of five historic eras stretching back to the 1980's. There is no story, but with retro graphics, old school jerseys, and historical rosters, the immersion is unmatched. Players simply choose any NBA team from one of these eras and instantly become a starter.
Below are some interesting historical teams to join as a Point Guard in MyCareer Eras.
