Remedy Entertainment is already looking beyond Control Resonant's launch, having announced two highly requested fan features. While NG++ is scheduled for October, Photo Mode is planned for November, letting you revisit Manhattan once more and capture its stunningly Hiss-devoured environment.
It has only been a day since the sequel's release, and Remedy is wasting no time outlining what is next for it. The game's launch update has already addressed some early-game feedback, including numerous performance issues. The upcoming additions are less about fixing issues and more about adding new ways to play and improving accessibility.
The first major inclusion is New Game++, which should be a welcome addition for players who aren't ready to leave Control Resonant just after a single playthrough. For this feature, Remedy explains:
"The current version of New Game+ enables you to beat the game only once more, but we're preparing an update that will add... wait for it... New Game++, which means you can start NG+ run after NG+ run, without needing to erase all your progress. Do 665 runs if you want!"
As explained before, the game's existing NG+ only allows you to replay the game once with all your abilities unlocked in the previous playthrough. Still, the NG++ update will take the replayability to another level. You can start countless runs whenever you want without losing your initial progress. Honestly, it's a great feature considering how intricate and rewarding Control Resonant's combat is, and it will progressively reward you more as you complete your next run.
It's a useful change for a game built on experimentation, as you can explore more with your abilities and different builds, thus being able to revisit the campaign countless times and make the subsequent playthroughs even more convenient as you progress. Ultimately, you won't have to treat New Game+ as a one-and-done affair, since this update will let you squeeze every drop out of the campaign—truly an interesting addition.
New Game++ isn't the only addition in the upcoming updates, as Control Resonant's photo mode will be released in November. Given Manhattan's bizarre, non-Euclidean environments, it naturally feels like a must-have feature for photographing the city properly. Since Remedy has been keeping a keen eye on virtual photography, this feature was a no-brainer to add to a game as visually distinctive as Control Resonant.
