Following the backlash over Grand Theft Auto 6's game-less Collector's Edition announcement, fans have been able to recreate the Macca figure from the bundle for free. After a lengthy development cycle marked by long periods of silence from Rockstar Games, fans are now just under two-months from finally going hands on with Grand Theft Auto 6, the most highly anticipated release of 2026 for most.
After pre-orders went live over the summer, fans have a number of different options to pick from. The standard retail version of Grand Theft Auto 6 retails for $79.99, while there's also a special Ultimate Edition that comes in a bit higher at $99.99. For those who want a bit more, the Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto 6 features additional in-game content and exclusive access to certain shops and features. However, fans recently discovered evidence of another collection, which Rockstar recently announced as Grand Theft Auto 6: The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection, though there's a big catch with it.
GTA 6's Collectors Edition comes in at $399.99 and features a variety of physical items, though it doesn't actually include the game at all. Based off of a fictional in-game Leonida TV show, the collection includes a Macca the Gator Figure, Oakley Frogskins Sunglasses, Leonida Keys Crossbody Bag, New Era 9FORTY Snapback Hat, Macca the Gator Magnetic Mirror, Chunkee the Manatee Shot Glass, Vice City Collectible Swizzle Spoon, Vice City Razor Blade Keychain, Leonida Keys Enamel Pin Set in Metal Tin, Leonida Keys Sticker Pack in Stash Bag, and a Double-Sided Souvenir Poster with Map of Leonida. It goes without saying that the announcement hasn't been a hit with a good majority of players.
Criticism of the GTA 6 Collectors Edition was sparked by the asking price of the edition and the fact that it doesn't come with a copy of the game. The frustrations have even led some to recreate a version of the Macca the Gator collectible, using 3D printing methods to faithfully reproduce a replica figure. The fan-made version isn't 1:1 identical to Rockstar's version as the biggest differences are that it won't have the "twist-open stash compartment" and it'll need to be hand painted after being printed with resin. Still, it's a cheaper, yet unofficial alternative to Rockstar's version included in the pricier collection.
