Standard sprinting in The Blood of Dawnwalker can feel incredibly slow when you are trying to cross the massive map of Vale Sangora. Since Coen operates in two distinct forms based on the game's day-and-night cycle, there is no single upgrade that permanently boosts his base movement speed. Instead, you must unlock two separate "Haste" abilities to completely replace your standard run with a much faster traversal mode.
During my own playthrough, I found that skipping combat perks early on to prioritize these two movement upgrades saved me hours of tedious backtracking. Here is exactly how players can run faster in Blood of Dawnwalker using the Haste abilities while in human and vampire forms.
To make Coen run faster in his human form in The Blood of Dawnwalker, you'll need to unlock the "Mercurial Fervour" ability from the Witchcraft skill tree. Unlocking the ability does not have an inherent requirement, but players will need to complete the "Blood and Ashes" quest before getting access to the Witchcraft skill tree. You can unlock subsequent upgrades that will reduce stamina consumption by finding skill manuals around the map.
Mercurial Fervour is my favorite of the two traversal abilities, as it allows Coen to run like the Flash, while the world around him slows down. It's just as good for traveling fast as it is for escaping a dangerous combat encounter while out and about.
Once night falls and Coen transforms into his Vrakiri (vampire) form, players can rely on the "Shapeshift" ability to run faster in The Blood of Dawnwalker. The Shapeshift ability will require players to raise their corruption level to one, which can easily be achieved by draining blood from enemies, NPCs, or animals using the "Voracious Bite" ability.
Once you're ready, you can unlock the ability from the Vampirism skill tree. You can upgrade it further by raising your corruption even higher to reduce the stamina consumed while shapeshifting.
The Shapeshift ability allows Coen to transform into a wolf that can sprint past landscapes and towns. While this ability does not have any cool time-slowdown effects, it's still useful when you're trying to save as much time as possible, both IRL and in-game, while traveling between points and completing quests.
Controls: To use either "Mercurial Fervour" or "Shapeshift" abilities, all you need to do is tap the sprint button twice. Pressing the sprint button again while Haste or Shapeshift is activated will switch Coen back to normal sprinting.
