PlayStation has confirmed that its next State of Play broadcast will take place later this week.
Sony‘s traditional September live stream, typically held ahead of Tokyo Game Show, will take place this year on Thursday, September 3. The State of Play will stream starting at 6:00am PT / 9:00 AM ET / 3:00 PM CEST / 10:00 PM JST.
According to Sony, the event will feature “updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners, concluding with an extended look at the vast world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation from our friends at Square Enix.”
The event will be followed by a ‘State of Play Japan’ stream, which will focus on Japanese titles.
“State of Play Japan will offer deep dives into upcoming games from game studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay, announcements, and more,” Sony said.
Last year’s September State of Play saw the re-reveal of Wolverine, Sony’s big first-party game planned for the following year. The stream also offered new looks at Crimson Desert, Nioh 3, Battlefield 6, and more.
The last State of Play Japan was held in November 2025 and included looks at Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Elden Ring Nightreign DLC, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, and more.
Sony’s announced first-party slate of games include God of War Laufey, Horizon Hunters Gathering, Until Dawn 2, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Fairgames.
