To trigger the Buried Past quest, you need to speak with the merchant located in Maragir. He mentions how you look like Pieter and points you to a secret location he used to go to a lot, after handing over some Slivovitz.
Head to the marked area between Svartrau City and St. Tyna's Grove to see a half destroyed hut. Inspect the tree and snares around it before entering the shed to inspect it.
A cutscene starts where Volk appears and fights Coen, trying to kick him out. After losing the fist fight and confirming your Pieter's son, he invites you inside.
