The frontman of Breaking Benjamin paused a concert just to urge the crowd to download his Fallout 4 mod and help him settle a beef with another modder.
The rock band known for hits like The Diary of Jane were playing a show in Holmdel, New Jersey, when singer and guitarist Benjamin Burnley used a break between songs to go on a four-minute-long rant about a mod he created.
As seen in the clip shared by ‘im_all_ears’ on Reddit, Burnley started by asking the audience if they were gamers and if they played Fallout 4 with mods, before announcing: “I am an amateur modder. I make mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4.”
Despite half the crowd having no idea what he was talking about, he went on to explain that he had made a mod called “True First Person.” The idea is to ensure that you can see your body and legs while in first-person, and you always stay in the perspective, even during interactions that would normally change it to third-person.
He then told the crowd exactly what they needed to do, saying: “I want you to go and download that f**king mod.”
But why did Burnley feel the need to try and peddle his custom mod during a concert? Well, it turns out he’s actually wrapped up in a beef with another modder in the community.
“There was a modder in the community that was really mean to me and bullying me, saying, ‘Oh, your mod is s**t. You don’t know what you’re f**king doing,'” he continued. “So I’m doing this, announcing it every f**king night, and blowing his f**king downloads out of the water.”
