While physical Xbox releases might not be as plentiful as they used to be, we're still getting loads of them on a monthly basis, and the folks over at Limited Run are also trickling out special Xbox versions for all sorts of great games.
We're particularly intrigued by their latest announcement today, which is that the classic '90s adventure games Myst and Riven — which have since been re-released and essentially rebuilt for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and other platforms — are getting special "Big Box" releases to emulate the PC versions of old.
Each game retails at $64.99 / €71.95 / £65.00 if you want the "Big Box" version which comes with a physical copy, a soundtrack CD and a double-sided poster, along with the game itself in disc form. Alternatively, they're also selling a non-big box version for $39.99 / €44.95 / £40.00 complete with an eight-page booklet.
The only particularly notable difference between the two is that Myst is available for Xbox One as well, whereas Riven is exclusive to Xbox Series X with no last-generation release.

If you're interested in either of these, they'll be available to pre-order via the Limited Run website from September 18th, but only for a month. We're pretty nostalgic for the whole "Big Box" era and would love to have more Xbox releases like these on our shelves at Hookshot / Pure Xbox HQ!
Before you ask, we have no idea whether Myst and Riven will support the new Xbox Disc to Digital feature when they arrive in physical form, but let's hope that's the case, as you'll also be able to unlock Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming functionality if so. We'll see if we can find out more if anyone's particularly interested in this.
It's worth checking out what else Limited Run has to offer right now as well, as we've spotted multiple Xbox games still in stock in "The Vault", including Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2, the Gex Trilogy and Metal Slug Tactics. Good stuff!
