Dragon Ball is the story about Goku's life, following him from his boyhood at the start of the series all the way to him becoming a grandfather and flying off with Uub at the end of Dragon Ball Z. All the while, he kept growing stronger, becoming one of the most powerful anime characters of all time.
Goku's come a very long way since his childhood adventures, but there's a certain charm to Kid Goku you just don't get with adult Goku these days. Not only did Kid Goku have an amazing character arc in the original Dragon Ball, he was plenty powerful. Goku has to grow up in every timeline, but the multiverse is full of Kid Gokus overflowing with enough power to make DBS Goku excited.
Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins was the second live-action Dragon Ball movie ever made. An unofficial production, the Taiwanese film is a fairly loose adaptation of the Pilaf Saga, mainly taking concepts and tropes from Dragon Ball's first arc rather than remaking story beats 1:1 (though there are some obvious similarities). The Magic Begins' version of Goku is Monkey Boy.
Monkey Boy is on the weaker end as far as Wuxia protagonists are concerned. He's capable of pulling off some impressive martial arts, but hardly anything superhuman and extraordinary like what regular Kid Goku can do in both the Dragon Ball anime and manga. Monkey Boy doesn't even learn how to perform the Kamehameha from Roshi, being only marginally stronger than the average human.
Dragon Ball: Fight for Victory, Son Goku! was the first actual live-action Dragon Ball movie, beating out The Magic Begins' release by about a year. Fight for Victory, Son Goku! stars Son Ogong (Goku's localized name in Dragon Ball's South Korean translation). Son Ogong is actually quite a bit stronger than Monkey Boy, in large part because Fight for Victory is a much more faithful adaptation.
Other than giving Oolong a larger role and making Pilaf a larger threat, Fight for Victory, Son Goku! is basically a live-action version of Curse of the Blood Rubies with changes that actually bring the story closer in line to the manga. This means that Son Ogong both learns the Kamehameha and uses it to defeat Pilaf (who is much stronger in the movie than in the real series).
Dragonball Evolution was such a disaster, it convinced Akira Toriyama to revive Dragon Ball as a franchise. Dragon Ball Super wouldn't exist without Dragonball Evolution, so at least one good thing came out of it. DBE's version of Goku might legitimately be the worst-written Goku in the entire franchise. He barely resembles Goku at all, to the point he actively gets bullied and called "Geeko" at school.
