September 10, 2026, is going to be an extremely busy day for Borderlands fans, as Borderlands 4 launches two paid DLCs, a new Vault Hunter, a free update that adds new gear and raises the level cap, and more. Borderlands 4 was probably not the game that fans expected before release, as many hoped it would finally address the infamous war prophesied by The Watcher in The Pre-Sequel. This seems to be something for the next game, whenever it comes out, as BL4 further sets the stage for more universe-shaping events.
Borderlands 4 brought back Lilith, the iconic Siren who vanished at the end of the previous game. Lilith then walks into The Timekeeper's Vault with the player character, only to meet a Siren who could be an older version of Lilith herself, showing the same fiery wings as her and giving her an item called Deodand that she would "know when to use." It's no surprise that Lilith is basically the face of the franchise alongside Claptrap and the Bandits. Recently, a new Borderlands release made Lilith playable again, though not in Borderlands 4.
Borderlands 4 is releasing the new Vault Hunter called Loveless alongside Story Pack 2, titled FL4K and the Last Resort, Bounty Pack 5, called Amara and the Vile Shadows, the free 1.10 update, and changes to BL4 DLC, all on September 10. Borderlands 4 revealed Loveless' gameplay on September 3, including the Malignant Construct, Visual Paradox Nexus, and Plague Star Action Skills. On top of that, players have the new Story Pack, adding a new map with main and side story missions as well as new bosses, and the Bounty Pack has a Siren theme centered on Amara, introducing a repeatable mission and bosses to kill for loot.

Then, the free 1.10 update that will be available to all players regardless of DLC ownership will increase the level cap in the game to 70 and include new Pearlescent weapons and Legendary gear. Borderlands 4 increased the level cap to 60 in March 2026, back when C4SH was added to the game, so it only makes sense to increase it once more. Gearbox stated that this is the final level cap increase in the game, so fans shouldn't expect another. Finally, again on September 10, older DLC for the game will be purchasable separately, such as Story Pack 1 without everything else, or even just story maps.

As such, whether players already own the new DLC in advance or intend to get into the game for the first time, September 10 is going to be a big day for Borderlands 4. Borderlands 4's Bounty Pack 4 came out on July 30, so those looking for a new piece of replayable content will get a new release in just three days.
