When choosing a team for Small Forwards in NBA 2K27's MyCareer, players will want to look out for rosters that lack a star SF, allowing them a shot at starting. However, the team would ideally have talent in other positions, such as an elite Point Guard to set them up and a few big men to protect the rim. The following are some great options for Small Forwards at the start of the upcoming 2026/27 season of the NBA, as well as historical rosters from across five eras.
With LeBron leaving the Lakers for Philadelphia, there's an opening for Small Forwards in MyCareer, and the opportunity to play alongside Luka Doncic in Los Angeles should not be overlooked. With Doncic and Austin Reaves being the main scorers, they could do with an elite defender at Small Forward who can still drain threes or attack the rim.
The Miami Heat have a new look with Giannis Antetokounmpo at Power Forward, and have retained elite defender Bam Adebayo. However, they are a tad light at Small Forward, and MP could easily replace Pelle Larsson in the starting 5. The goal would be to do what Jimmy Butler couldn't do, and return the Heat to winning ways, although the roster could do with reinforcement in the backcourt too. Miami is also a hot destination with the hype surrounding GTA 6.
The Bulls are a franchise always chasing their success in the 90s, and as a dominant Small Forward in MyCareer, MP could be their saving grace. They are extremely light at the three, with their best SF only being 75 rated, meaning players would almost be guaranteed to start. While Chicago doesn't have any superstars per se, the rest of their starting 5 are strong and would be ready to support MP. Out of these, Josh Giddey at Point Guard is arguably the best.
Domantas Sabonis is one of the best Centers in the league, but doesn't have enough talent around him to make the playoffs and make deep runs. With a star Small Forward taking over from De'Andre Hunter for the Sacramento Kings, however, there could be light at the end of the tunnel come the end of the season. There's also Zach LaVine to link up with, and any type of forward would suit this roster.
The Milwaukee Bucks will be rebuilding after the departure of the Greek Freak, and a new talisman at Small Forward in MP could be exactly what they need. This is the perfect destination for forwards who want to be greedy and play in isolation, as there isn't too much talent offensively. Tyler Herro would nevertheless be a great teammate to pair up with, though.
