Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will not get its long-awaited blowout this year, as boss Neil Druckmann says Naughty Dog needs a little more time to “cook”.
Speaking in the aftermath of The Last of Us Day – where it also announced multiple new The Last of Us projects are in development – Druckmann said “we’re going to be quiet for the rest of this year”.
However, he promised that will change in 2027, where we’ll all get a “proper look” at the studio’s “most ambitious game” yet.
“We know it’s been a long time since we’ve had much to share with you. We don’t take your continued support for granted. We’re working incredibly hard to make something worthy of your patience.”
In order to ease the wait, the studio showcased a new piece of concept art (above) showing protagonist Jordan on the surface of the planet Sempiria.
I’m a bit disappointed we’re not going to see more of the game this year, but Sony tends to show off its titles once they’re close to release, and God of War Laufey has the spotlight right now.
I imagine once we’re out of February, we’re going to be seeing a lot of this sci-fi adventure.
