After completing the Bloody Baron's quest, speak to the Baron to gain access to his and Tamara's rooms. Use your Witcher Senses to examine the red-highlighted objects in both rooms and follow the trails of clues. These will lead you to an altar and a talisman, providing more information about the family's disappearance.

After speaking with the Baron, head to the Pellar's home. You will find several guards outside, and there are three ways to deal with them: use Axii, fight them, or attempt to bribe them. The guards will refuse the bribe, so keep that in mind.

Once you can enter, speak to the Pellar and retrieve his missing goat. Return with the goat so the Pellar can perform a ritual to learn more about what happened to the Baron's family. This leads Geralt to discover the existence of a Botchling.

After returning to the Baron and getting into a fistfight with him, Geralt will explain what he has discovered about the Botchling. Continue through the quest until you reach the creature's grave, where you will face a timed choice: kill the Botchling or attempt to lift its curse.

If you choose to kill the Botchling, a cutscene will play in which Geralt attacks it with his sword. The creature transforms into a larger monster, triggering a fight. You will also need to deal with the Wraiths that appear during the encounter.

After defeating the Botchling, another cutscene will play. The Baron will express his anger toward Geralt for killing his child, but Geralt will obtain the Botchling's blood, which is needed for the Pellar's ritual.

Follow the Pellar to the ritual site and use Igni to light the fires in the braziers. Several Wraiths will appear during the ritual and attempt to extinguish the flames. Fight them and relight any braziers that go out. After a while, a cutscene will play, and the Pellar will direct Geralt toward a fisherman's hut.
