Borderlands 4 has climbed to become the third-highest-selling game on Steam after players became fixated on Loveless, its new DLC Vault Hunter.
The game’s player count has also jumped to roughly eight times the low numbers it had been posting in recent months.
Gearbox released Loveless on September 10 alongside Borderlands 4’s Version 1.10 update. The character is an ex-Anshin hacker turned assassin who shares her mind with a digital virus capable of taking physical form as a deadly Wyrm.
Loveless’ white hair, gold piercings, cybernetic design, and futuristic outfit immediately caught players’ attention. Posts showing off the new character’s features helped spread the reaction, with fans openly thirsting over the new Vault Hunter across social media.

Loveless is not just a cosmetic addition. Her abilities focus on Corrosive and Radiation damage, with skills that include throwing a contagious Plague Star shuriken, entering stealth while creating a decoy, and summoning her Wyrm companion to attack enemies.
She also uses a RAM meter that powers up her melee attacks and gun damage.
The character costs $9.99 as standalone DLC, while Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort costs $19.99. Both are included in the Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition and Vault Hunter Pack, according to 2K’s official update.
