Thornblade is the evolved form of Budsquire in Aniimo and one of the strongest DPS units in the game. There are multiple ways to get Thornblade in Aniimo, including evolution, wild encounters, and form conversions. Here’s how they work.
You can only find a Basic Thornblade in the Sea of Flowers region in Aniimo, sitting in the shade of a tree on a small hill west of the broken tower where you find the Thunderform Thornblade in rains and storms.
To reach it, fast travel to the Sea of Flowers fast travel point, go west through the broken tower. From here, look westward and notice the lone tree on the small hill nearby. The Thornblade is sitting underneath this tree, surrounded by Budsquires.
From our testing, Thornblade appears to be a highly rare spawn. Its appearance is not guaranteed, which means you may have to reset the zone multiple times before it spawns. It also appears to be more likely to appear in sunny weather than in rainy or thunderstorm conditions.
A Budsquire can evolve into Thornblade at Level 27 if you are able to defeat a Thornblade using only a single Budsquire (Basic Form) as your sole party member. Only the Budsquire that defeats the Thornblade will unlock the ability to evolve; this does not permanently unlock this evolution for all Budsquires.
