Dead Man's Party should be the second main quest you embark on within The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone, as it's one of Olgierd's wishes that Geralt must complete to clear his debt with the Mirror Master. Dead Man's Party requires you to show Olgierd's brother, Vlodimir, the time of his life, even though Vlodimir is quite dead. Below, we'll share a full walkthrough of the mission and the choices you need to make so you can complete the quest, earn missable loot, and potentially romance Shani.
To begin the Dead Man's Party quest, you'll need to head to Shani's clinic in Oxenfurt. When you arrive, a Redanian soldier will ask what you think of Shani, but your dialogue here has no impact on your relationship with Shani, nor will it impact a potential romance later in the quest.
You should tell Shani what's going on, and then you can meet her at the Von Everec Estate, which is south of Brunwich. It's here that you'll meet Shani again, who provides you with a Censer that you can use in the Von Everec Family Crypt, so just follow the objective markers.
Shani will ask you to join her at a wedding, but your choice doesn't matter as you'll be going regardless.
When you enter the family crypt, you'll be met with four Wraiths that you'll need to kill, so have a Silver Sword at the ready. With them dead, you'll need to use your Witcher Senses to locate Vlodimir's grave, which is at the front-right of the main room, marked by the sword at the stone grave.
Once you have interacted with Vlodimir's grave, hold R1/RB to use the Censer, and follow the objectives on your minimap so you can fill the crypt with incense. Afterward, return to the central chamber and interact with the cauldron, where you'll be confronted with the Von Everec family, so make sure you kill them with your Silver Sword, as they're quite hostile.
When Voldimir appears, you will have no choice but to agree and let him take over Geralt's body. None of your dialogue options matter here, as you'll soon be tasked with joining Shani at the wedding festivities. But for now, use the Aard sign on the breakable wall where Vlodimir is sitting to find a Crypt Key on a corpse.
Follow the path through and past the Arachnomorphs to loot the crypt. Despite Vlodimir's anger, nothing happens, and you'll get some jewelry you can sell later. Now, summon Roach and travel to Brunwich to meet Shani and start the wedding activities.
