In the world of anime, the Naruto franchise is unequivocally one of the biggest to have ever existed. This franchise met its end in 2017 when the original Naruto anime reached its conclusion. Since then, Boruto has carried the torch and delivered quite a lot of exciting content, but now the Naruto series is officially set to make a comeback.
The Naruto anime series is officially set to announce its full return on October 10, 2026. This announcement will see the reveal of various new projects, including a completely new animated movie. More than that, on September 24, 2026, it was officially announced by Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump that Naruto will be making a huge anime-related announcement in December, as it is now an official part of the Jump Festa Super Stage Red.
The Naruto series reached its conclusion as a manga on November 10, 2014. As far as the anime goes, the series reached its official conclusion on March 23, 2017, and it's been 9 years ever since. Fans have deeply felt the absence of Naruto, and even though Boruto has delivered quite a lot of exciting content ever since, the absence of the original series has still been deeply felt. In a surprising turn of events, the Naruto anime series is now officially making its comeback. This comeback was initially reported by Variety on September 10, 2026. On September 13, Viz Media unveiled a Press Release, further confirming that an animated movie is set to be announced for the Naruto franchise on October 10, 2026, at New York Comic Con, which also happens to be the birthday of Naruto Uzumaki.
Quite tellingly, both Shueisha and Studio Pierrot are planning for a full revival of the Naruto franchise with a new movie, or perhaps even more exciting projects. To take things one step further, now, on September 24, 2026, it has been officially confirmed that Naruto will be included in Jump Festa 2027. For those who do not know, Jump Festa is the biggest event in Japan pertaining to anime and manga franchises. It is held in December every year, and usually, the biggest announcements are made at this event. Naruto has not been involved in Jump Festa for quite a long time, but now, the series is officially returning to Jump Festa and getting a massive stage of its own. Usually, the Super Stage holds the biggest announcements, and that is precisely what Naruto has. Its lineup sees it placed next to series like One Piece, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, among many other hits. It goes without saying that new, exciting projects pertaining to the Naruto franchise will be announced here.
For starters, the upcoming Naruto movie, which is going to be announced officially on October 10, 2026, at New York Comic Con, will most certainly get new information at Jump Festa on December 19, 2026. Fans can expect the main cast of the Naruto series to be present at this event. At the same time, even Key Visuals or trailers, along with other exciting stuff, could be revealed. More information pertaining to the plot of the movie could also be revealed.
More than that, there are other projects that are currently in development at Studio Pierrot. This is especially because Bleach and Black Clover are both reaching their conclusions, and Pierrot needs something new to hold on to that is going to boost their popularity even further. As is quite evident from financial reports, Naruto is their biggest franchise ever, and it makes perfect sense for it to make a comeback. The new Naruto movie could very well be the pathway to a full anime return, which could very well see the involvement of Masashi Kishimoto himself. While nothing has been confirmed pertaining to a new Naruto anime, we do know that a lot of exciting projects are going to be announced both at New York Comic Con, and at Jump Festa 2027 Super Stage Red. All in all, the Naruto franchise has some incredibly bright days ahead of it, and the series could very well be looking at a full revival in the upcoming year, which we are incredibly excited for.
