Anticipated action RPG No Rest for the Wicked has cancelled its plans to launch this October. Instead, the full 1.0 release — on PS5 and other platforms — will now drop in March 2027.
It's a pretty hefty delay, prompting Moon Studios boss Thomas Mahler to post a video on the matter.
First off, Mahler apologises for said delay, and then explains that version 1.0 simply "isn't there yet". The developer came to this conclusion after months of extensive internal playtesting.
"We'd just like to take that extra time to make sure that we land this plane safely and that we don't ship with any silly little bugs," Mahler continues.
Moon Studios also confirms that pre-orders on PS5 will now open in January 2027.
An official statement sums everything up: "The honest truth is that we're a small team, and we're holding our games to a standard we won't compromise on. We're close, but close isn't good enough for our full 1.0 launch."
"The extra time will help us improve performance, tighten the class system, and polish the whole game to the standard you all deserve. We'd rather take a few more months than ship something that we know isn’t quite perfect yet."
So, the No Rest for the Wicked wait continues, but I suppose it's reassuring that Moon Studios took a proper look at its game and decided that it could do even better. Here's hoping that 1.0 delivers next year.
