Best Ammo Type in WARDOGS

Best Ammo Type in WARDOGS

Loadouts play a crucial role in Wardogs, and one of the most important aspects is the ammo type you select. Some ammo types can negate armor pieces versus flesh targets, so it's vital to know how each ammo type works, as each comes with its own unique advantage and disadvantage. You can find the information you need to know right here!

Based on my experience, Armor Piercing rounds deliver the best results. As more time passes since the game's launch, players accumulate more cash and unlock more advanced weapons and loadout options. That means you will find far fewer players who just run into a gunfight with the starting free assault rifle and no armor pieces. Armor-piercing rounds will make sure that you hit more than you miss.

To make it clear, I need to go over each ammo type in Wardogs and explain the pros and cons of each to help you make a better judgment of which bullet type could be ideal for you and why armor-piercing rounds are a safe bet.

Let's begin with the Standard FMJ rounds. This is the basic ammo type that is available by default for every weapon that you unlock through progression. Standard rounds have no advantage against armored or unarmored targets, but they don't deal the same amount of damage to both. It's in the middle ground, which is best for the starters. And "best" might not even be a good word, because players literally have no other choice early on.

Armor pieces absorb 60% of the incoming damage from Standard rounds. That means if an AK74 deals 28 torso damage on an unarmored target with Standard bullets, the damage output will be reduced to around 11 units on an armored target.

That's a lot of missed damage, but that's just how powerful armor pieces are. The good news is that lower-level armor pieces don't cover a big part of the torso. Also, they never cover arms and legs. Other than that, headshot damage is much more than torso damage overall. The AK74 deals 61 headshot damage on an unarmored target, and even if they wear a helmet, the damage output will still be around 24 units, which is almost as much damage as you can deal to an unarmored player with a torso shot.

So, aiming is indeed important. But let's see how those numbers change with Flesh Damage (HP) rounds.

Flesh Damage bullets are the weakest against armored targets and strongest against unarmored targets. These bullets tear apart body parts, allowing them to deal devastating damage to parts not covered by armor.
