Villains are the lifeblood of Dragon Ball, and are often the best characters in any individual story arc. Dragon Ball Super had some truly amazing villains between Beerus' first appearance in Battle of Gods, Frieza's return in Resurrection F, Goku Black, Zamasu, and Broly – and Dragon Ball Super 2 will be no different. The only thing that will be different is just how overwhelmingly powerful the villains of Dragon Ball Super 2 will be.
Dragon Ball Super 2 is going to introduce some of the strongest villains in anime history – antagonists so powerful, they'll change Goku and Vegeta's lives forever. By the end of the series, these DBS 2 villains will be just as iconic as Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu were after Dragon Ball Z ended.
Moro will be the first villain in Dragon Ball Super 2, and the only antagonist in the series to unlock Ultra Instinct. Planet Eater Moro is an ancient evil who was locked away by the Galatci Patrol for years. When he breaks out and heads to New Namek, Goku and Vegeta have no choice but to pursue, putting them against a foe far more dangerous than anything they've ever faced before. Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol is going to break the internet when it adapts the Moro Saga's many twists and turns.
For as powerful as Goku gets by finally mastering Perfected Ultra Instinct, Moro is able to keep up and trigger Ultra Instinct himself. Ultra INstinct Moro is able to fight evenly with PUI Goku, and seems to be totally equal in terms of raw strength and speed. Unfortunately for Moro, his body can't handle God Ki and an Angelic form, so he starts to implode from inside out. In order to survive, Moro fuses himself to the Earth, making himself even stronger as he drains the energy of every living being on the planet.
The Granolah the Survivor Saga is an excellent story arc that examines the lasting consequences of the Saiyans' violent past, while continuing Dragon Ball Super: Broly's thematic idea that the sins of the father weight on Goku and Vegeta decades later. The Granolah Saga also takes Dragon Ball's pursuit of power to the logical extreme, featuring multiple characters wishing to become the strongest being in the universe – in turn allowing the series to analyze what it even means to be the most powerful man alive.
Granolah serves as the villain, and functional protagonist, for the first half of the saga. Granolah uses Cereal's two Dragon Balls to summon Toronbo and wish to become the most powerful man in Universe 7. Unlike wishes from Shenron, Toronbo strikes a deal with whoever makes a wish on him. In this case, Granolah trades almost his entire remaining life force so that his body will instantly adapt to his full potential as a Cerealian, making him far stronger than both Goku and Vegeta.
Granolah only has three years left to live after making his wish, but he gains access to every single technique and ability known to man, including Hakai. That said, Granolah still has to learn how to use each technique properly and isn't fully skilled, just all-powerful and capable. As a Cerealian, Granolah has access to an Enhanced Eye which increases his reflexes and allows him to target vitals for death-dealing blows. Granolah almost kills Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku when they fight, bypassing UI's own reflexes to nearly piece Goku's heart.
