Sometimes, being a witcher won't pay the bills, and you're going to have to resort to unsavory methods to earn more Crowns and money than the emperor of Nilfgaard. The best money-making methods in The Witcher 3 can be found here, over a decade after the game's release! We'll rely on fun exploits (not glitches) that will allow you to farm infinite Crowns so you can get rich fast and never run out of money again!
Once you reach Velen, head to Martin Feuille's Farmstead, which is east of Oxenfurt, as shown on the map above. At this location, you will find at least 16 cows, and you can use Igni to kill them without risk of punishment. Once they're dead, you can use the Meditation feature to respawn the cows and repeat.
When you have enough corpses, loot them for the Cow Hides. You can now sell these Cow Hides to Innkeepers in Velen, Novigrad, and Oxenfurt. If they run out of Crowns, just Meditate for 5 days, and they will restock. You can repeat this method infinitely!
This method is safe, but don't do it in White Orchard! You will spawn a Level 27 Chort in White Orchard if you use this method, so maybe steer clear of this location until you can easily take out this monster (and farm its hide).
The best method for Crowns and XP is the Hanse Base farming method. All you need to do is own the Blood and Wine expansion and head to Toussaint. There are a few Hanse Bases, which are filled with bandits to kill and loot. So long as you don't kill the boss at the top of each Hanse Base, you can respawn all the bandits by leaving the area and fast traveling back.
Once you kill all the bandits (except the boss), you can loot everything they own and sell it to Lazare Lafargue, the Grandmaster Smith, Blacksmith, and Armorer, all in Beauclair, who will purchase the weapons and armor from these corpses. When they run out of money, just meditate for 5 nights and repeat!
