In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257, which was officially released on April 22, 2024, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 21, Yuji Itadori, the protagonist of the series, ended up receiving what would form the basis for his biggest power-up to date in the form of the Cursed Technique Shrine.
When the series first began, Gege Akutami made it quite clear that Yuji was constantly being bathed in Sukuna's Cursed Energy and, as such, would, in time, gain access to the Shrine, just like the King of Curses. That is precisely what happened in Shinjuku, and it ended up being the basis for Yuji's victory against Ryomen Sukuna. Now, however, many years later, Yuji Itadori has fully mastered Shrine, as was confirmed by Gege Akutami most recently in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. With that, we now also know that Yuji Itadori has received a completely new power that he did not have access to previously, and that is Divine Flame.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Yuji Itadori was largely absent from the plot for a significant period of time. His return happened in the third volume and specifically the 19th chapter, which was released on January 26, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 9. When Yuji returned, he immediately showed his mastery over the art of Blood Manipulation as well as the ability to fully control a Black Flash, making history in the process. Shortly after, on February 2, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 10, Yuji Itadori showed his advanced mastery over the power of Shrine. As mentioned earlier, Yuji previously awakened Shrine during his battle against Ryomen Sukuna, but back then, his control over this technique was far inferior to what it is right now.

Yuji's Shrine in Shinjuku saw him make use of snipping marks over things that he wanted to chop to make the cuts incredibly clean. Unlike Sukuna, Yuji's version of Shrine did not lean on indiscriminate chopping, but by adulthood, it seems that Yuji has mastered the exact same version of Shrine as Ryomen Sukuna himself. In JJK Modulo chapter 20, Yuji Itadori utilized the power of Shrine to cut down a significant number of Cursed Spirits who were trying to escape from Tokyo. In fact, the Dismantle that Yuji Itadori launched was far bigger than any Dismantle ever used by Ryomen Sukuna, and that goes to show that his mastery over this technique is far greater than the King of Curses himself.
To take things one step further, on February 16, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 12, Gege Akutami released Modulo Chapter 22, where Yuji took on Mahito. In this battle, he simply cut Mahito and his Domain without even forming any hand signs, which goes to show that his mastery over his Shrine is incredibly immense. It is safe to say that by adulthood, Yuji Itadori is a far better user of Shrine than even the King of Curses himself, and the Modulo series backs that up.
Given that Yuji Itadori has full control over Shrine by adulthood, as confirmed by Gege Akutami himself, it can now be said with certainty that he has also gained the ultimate power-up of Divine Flame. For those who do not know, Divine Flame was Ryomen Sukuna's strongest technique that he first deployed against Jogo in Shibuya in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 116, released on August 3, 2020, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 35. Divine Flame was so powerful that it burned through Jogo's own pyrokinetic abilities, showcasing immense superiority. Sukuna once again utilized this power in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 259 in the Shinjuku showdown arc, which was released on May 13, 2024. This ability of Ryomen Sukuna is incredibly deadly and quite easily the strongest that Shrine has to offer.
